They are sure to fire up the Jam Friday night and set the table for Jackyl and one of the premier festival rock shows in the country. Jesse Dupree and the boys come armed with a chainsaw, two platinum selling albums and classic rock'n roll songs line “Down On Me,” “When Will It Rain,” “I Stand Alone” and of course “The Lumberjack.” These shows along with rock legends Grand Funk Railroad, TNT - a Tribute to ACDC and The Fabulous Armadillo's 'Arena Rock Show,' and many more on the Rhino Deck, guarantee that Friday will be one of the most slammin' DAYS and NIGHTS of rock'n roll the Jam has hosted to date… so come early! We are so thrilled to announce the biggest and best Halfway Jam ever, that we’re simply calling it THE JAM from here on out! With 11 National acts and close to 25 bands rocking for three days on two stages! New in 2008 is the Thursday night “Southern Country Fried” kick off Jam! With three nationally acclaimed bands! Founded in 1972 and still performing close to 200 shows a year The Marshall Tucker Band is one of the big daddies of southern rock and country music. Their signature tunes “Can’t You See” and “Fire on The Mountain” are radio standards that bridged the gap between southern, country & rock formats. Call it what you want, the word is these guys rock! Grammy winning artists The Kentucky Headhunters turned Nashville on it’s head years ago and continue to steal the show at festivals around the country with it’s unique blend of rock-influenced county rock and roll! From “Dumas Walker” to “Oh Lonesome Me” this is music to kick up the dirt by! Finally, back by popular demand, is a group that stole the show two years ago at THE JAM! “Don’t gimme no lines…” and don’t miss The Georgia Satellites, pure no frills ROCK AND ROLL! We are still finalizing a few names for Friday and Saturday, however, it promises to feature some of the best music to ever hit the airwaves from the 70’s right into the 90’s! Grand Funk Railroad is without a doubt one of the premier rock and roll bands of all time. With classics like “We’re An American Band,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” “Feelin’ Alright” and “The Locomotion,” they will bring the party to town Friday night with a nonstop hit parade! 80’s fans are not gonna want to miss The Romantics on Saturday night and one of the top tunes of that decade, the juke box staple, “What I Like About You,” along with many others! John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band (On The Dark Side) and Head East will help round out this decade with “Since You Been Gone” and of course “There’s Never Been Any Reason” …not to Jam with us in 2008! So far so good? Well this isn’t all, not even close! Breaking new ground in 2008 yet again, THE JAM is heading into a new frontier called the 90’s! This little excursion promises to be especially appealing to “junior jammers” and old school rockers alike. Everclear, who were a VH1 staple throughout the 90’s with monster hits like “Wonderful,” “Father of Mine,” “Santa Monica” and “AM Radio” have a few other tricks up their sleeve with amazing reworks of classic rockers like “The Boys are Back in Town,” and “Brown Eyed Girl.” These Friday night headliners are sure to bring down the house like never before at THE JAM! Had enough yet? We hope not… Because we have a few more names to confirm and announce very soon in addition to 12 of the best area bands and tribute shows that are getting ready to rock the Rhino Deck! We’ve had great input from so many past Jammers and took all of it into consideration. For those who we were unable to accommodate in 2008, we will keep these suggestions and “wish lists” in mind for future Jams. See you in July!
